Agnipath (Agniveer) Scheme

A four-year armed forces tenure with a starting salary in the region of ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 a month and a lump-sum Seva Nidhi of roughly ₹11.7 lakh at the end

Agnipath recruits young people into the armed forces for a four-year tenure as Agniveers. The monthly salary starts in the region of ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 and rises through the four years, and on completion you receive a one-time Seva Nidhi package of roughly ₹11.7 lakh. Along with the money you get military training and discipline, and many use the four years as a step towards further government service.

Who can apply

  • Indian citizen within the age range notified for the Agniveer recruitment rally
  • Meets the education requirement of the Agniveer trade being recruited for
  • Clears the written test, physical fitness test and medical examination

What to take with you

  • Aadhaar card
  • Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets as required for the trade
  • Domicile or residence certificate
  • Caste certificate, where applicable
  • Recent photographs

How to apply

Register and apply at joinindianarmy.nic.in for the Army, or on the Navy and Air Force recruitment sites, when the notification for your zone opens; you then appear for the online written test followed by the rally and medical.
