PM Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 (Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana)
A free LPG gas connection in a woman's name, plus help with the first refill and the stove
Ujjwala gives women from low-income households a cooking gas connection at no cost. The connection is issued in the woman's own name. Along with the connection you also get financial help towards the first gas cylinder refill and the stove, so cooking does not have to depend on wood, coal or dung.
Who can apply
- Adult woman from a low-income household
- No LPG connection already in the household in anyone's name
- Aadhaar and a bank account in the woman's name
Who cannot apply
- Households that already have an LPG gas connection
What to take with you
- Aadhaar card of the woman applying
- Bank passbook or account details in her name
- Ration card or other proof of the household members
- Address proof
How to apply
Fill the Ujjwala 2.0 form at pmuy.gov.in, or take your papers to the nearest Indane, HP Gas or Bharatgas distributor and ask for a new Ujjwala connection.

Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Another gas connection already exists at the same address in a family member's name
- Name on Aadhaar does not match the name on the bank account
