Stand-Up India
Bank loans between ₹10 lakh and ₹1 crore for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and women entrepreneurs setting up a new enterprise
Stand-Up India makes every bank branch lend between ₹10 lakh and ₹1 crore to at least one Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe entrepreneur and one woman entrepreneur. The loan is for setting up a brand new, or greenfield, enterprise, not for taking over an existing one. It is aimed at people who have a real business plan but have been turned away by banks before.

- Setting up a new (greenfield) enterprise in manufacturing, services, trading or allied agriculture
- Aged 18 or above
- In a company or partnership, at least 51 percent of the holding is with the SC, ST or woman entrepreneur
Who cannot apply
- Taking over or expanding an existing business rather than starting a new one
What to take with you
- Aadhaar card and PAN card
- Caste certificate, where the SC or ST route is being used
- Detailed project report
- Proof of business premises
- Bank statements and any existing loan details
How to apply
Apply through the Stand-Up India portal at standupmitra.in, or directly at a bank branch, which is obliged to consider such applications; the portal also connects you to hand-holding support for the project report.
Rejected or still waiting? Check these first
Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Enterprise is not a new one, since only greenfield projects qualify
- The required 51 percent holding is not with the SC, ST or woman entrepreneur
- Project report was not detailed enough for the bank to assess
Still stuck after checking all of these? Tell us what happened and we will help you work out which office to approach.
