A free scooty, with registration and insurance included, for meritorious girls who have passed Class 12
The Uttar Pradesh government gives a free scooty to girl students who did well in Class 12, so that the daily journey to a college or coaching centre is not the reason a girl stops studying. The registration and the insurance are part of what is given, so the family does not pay those separately. It is given on merit, not on application order.
Who can apply
- Girl student who has passed Class 12 from Uttar Pradesh
- Good marks in Class 12, since the scooty is given on merit
- Continuing into higher education, for which daily travel is needed

- Aadhaar card
- Class 12 marksheet
- Proof of admission in a college or higher course
- Bank passbook
How to apply
Apply through your college or the Uttar Pradesh government's own announcement for the year; the state portal at up.gov.in carries the notice and the department handling it. Your college office will know when the list for the year opens.

Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Marks are below the merit cut-off fixed for that year
- No proof of admission into a further course, since the scooty is for continuing study
