₹5 lakh a year of free cashless hospital treatment per family
Ayushman Bharat pays your hospital bill so you do not have to. Each eligible family gets cover of ₹5 lakh a year, and it works at more than 30,000 hospitals across the country that are part of the scheme. You show your Ayushman card at the hospital counter, the treatment is cashless, and most major operations and treatments are covered.
Who can apply
- Family listed as eligible in the scheme's beneficiary database
- Any member of an eligible family, of any age, with no limit on family size
- Treatment must be taken at a hospital empanelled under the scheme
Who cannot apply
- Treatment taken at a hospital that is not empanelled under the scheme
What to take with you
- Ayushman card, or Aadhaar card to have the card made
- Ration card or family identification papers
How to apply
Check your family's name and make your card free of cost at pmjay.gov.in, at any Common Service Centre, or at the Ayushman counter of an empanelled hospital or the Baraut community health centre.
Rejected or still waiting? Check these first
Most applications fail for a correctable reason, not because the applicant was ineligible. Before assuming you do not qualify, check each of these:
- Family name is not in the beneficiary list, so no card can be issued
- Hospital chosen is not empanelled under the scheme
- Card was never activated, or the name on the card does not match the Aadhaar
